Bible Story and Testimony
Theme: The pains (cross) for winning the gains (price of blessings).
Text: 9:22 and Galatians 6:12-17
During the period under review, the staff of People United For Empowerment and Development (PUFED) taught lot of Bible Lessons, but one interesting one ,we wish to share with you is as follow; true salvation is only seen through Christ Jesus. Also, we told them that as Jesus paid the price for our salvation on the cross by sharing his precious blood on Mount Calvary, we ought to not faint , but to work on our salvation with fear and trembling ( Philippians 2:12b).
Moreover, we told them that something great doesn’t happen by chance .To every greatness in life, there is a always an afflicted pain; a price somewhere that must be paid to obtain the gain. For every Christian therefore, the ultimate price to the Kingdom of God is the cross. You cannot make any impact in Christianity, if you are the type who avoids the pains. There are many who are suffering untold hardships in life because they are afraid to loose their comforts and the gains that make life more colorful to them. That is why they do everything possible to avoid fasting /prayers and a separated lifestyle. If you must live an effective Christian life, you must of necessity deny yourself, pick up your cross and daily follow after Christ. There are risks that you must take by totally submitting your all and all to serve God in all sincerity .This is the basis for your divine enthronement in life and ministry. The cross is one element that will polish your life and subject you to divine favor. Many see the cross as an occasion of suffering, but it is the pivot for your divine accomplishment in life and ministry.
We cautioned these kids yea even our readers that one of the pains of the cross is separation especially from unbelievers. Luke 14:25-30. We must love God more than we loved our love ones; likewise, even ourselves to be qualified as true disciples.
For instance, in order for God to bless Abraham, he had to leave his father’s house, kinsmen, brethren, houses and lands unto a land quite different from the one he is used to (Genesis 12:1-3). Thus, he paid the price of isolation himself by isolating himself from his loved ones .He bore the pains of deprivation, loss of social security and fellowship which he used to enjoy. However, he ended up being blessed (gain).Accordingly, as we paid the price, we anticipate to gain through the Lord Almighty. We are encouraging these vulnerable children to remain steadfast in the Christian faith at the same time grow in the fear of the Lord.
As you read through this story, we pray and hope that the Holy Spirit will enable you to see and feel the plights of these suffering children. In doing so, the needs of these children range from food, medical, and education.
Thanks for reading through this Bible story and testimonial.
